Rick Richmond, CEO
Rick Richmond serves as CEO for SiMPore. Rick Richmond is a specialist in scientific business development. His experience encompasses venture fund raising, business planning and development, marketing including domestic and international product launches, finance and division and company management. Prior to SiMPore, Rick was founding CEO of STS Biopolymers, a developer and producer of polymeric coatings for medical devices. He led the development of the company from a two-person research and development operation to a 46-person research, development, licensing and production leader in the field, with operations in the U.S. and the Netherlands, and led the sale of STS Biopolymers to Angiotech Pharmaceuticals. Rick was also a co-founder of Diffinity Genomics, Panorama Plastics, Gradient Lens, Microdispersions, Fairfield Cosmetics, and Medisperse and is an investor in and advisor to other tech startups. Thomas Gaborski, PhD, President and COO
Tom leads SiMPore’s product development and membrane characterization efforts. In addition he takes a strong interest in anything web related and guides SiMPore’s electronic presence, building and maintaing its websites, e-commerce portal and web newsletters. Tom earned a BS degree in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. Christopher Striemer, PhD, Vice President, Membrane Development
Dr. Chris Striemer received his doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rochester in 2004. As the original inventor of the membrane technology, Chris holds several patents and has received speaking invitations at international technology meetings. Jane Hasselkus, Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Jane’s current focus is on evaluating new markets, determining potential fit and advantage for SiMPore, providing product design feedback, and creating marketing and selling plans for new products. Previously, she worked for Kodak, J&J, and Carestream Health in various marketing, business, and sales operations management roles. James Roussie, PhD, Director of Sales and Marketing
Dr. James Roussie received his doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Rochester. After completing his doctorate, Jamie worked in the Office of Corporate Alliances (OCA) at the University of Rochester Medical Center. James McGrath, PhD, Director of Academic Alliances
Professor McGrath is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. Dr. McGrath holds degrees from MIT in both Mechanical Engineering (MS) and Biological Engineering (PhD).
