Market Application & Need

The goal of lab-on-a-chip platforms is to integrate all assay operations onto a small chip platform.  Currently, most lab-on-a-chip products still require and external fluidic station to perform the washing and staining steps of the assay.

SiMPore Product

SiMPore’s nanoporous, ultrathin, silicon membrane technology can be incorporated into an electro-osmotic pumping solution that would move fluid on the lab-on-a-chip via the application of an electric field (vs. mechanical means).  This would facilitate the elimination of the external fluidic station.
